A native of Jacksonville, Dr. Stowe has enjoyed her return to northeast Florida as part of the Valuvision family. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!).
She then earned her doctoral degree at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. While in optometry school, she was a member of Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity and participated in a service trip to Honduras giving eye exam to the underprivileged population.
She was also a member of the Lion’s Club chapter and participated in vision screenings for athletes at the Special Olympics both in Tennessee and in Florida. She then continued her post-doctoral education by pursuing an Ocular Disease and Primary Care Residency at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. There, she received extensive training in ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as specialty training in low vision and advanced contact lenses.
In her free time, Dr. Stowe enjoys spending time with family and friends, kayaking, traveling, and supporting her hometown Jacksonville Jaguars.
